Born March 15, 1975, in Los Angeles, California, will.i.am (real name William Adams) is one of the most successful composers, producers, and recording artists in music history. He is the founder and leader of The Black Eyed Peas, one of the most popular groups of all-time with over sales over 35 million albums and 40 million singles. In addition to recording six CDs with the group, he has also released four solo albums. His many honors include seven Grammy Awards, eight American Music Awards, three World Music Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Billboard Music Award, and a Teen Choice Award.

will.i.am has also composed and produced music for many more stars, including Michael Jackson, Justin Bieber, Britney Spears, Miley CyrusU2, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Usher, Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj,  and Earth, Wind & Fire. He served as the executive producer of the triple platinum 2006 debut solo album from The Black Eyed Peas lead vocalist Fergie titled, The Dutchess. In 2008, he released "Yes We Can" which became a theme song for Barack Obama's presidential campaign featuring John Legend, Common, and many more celebrities. On June 13, 2008, "Yes We Can" was honored for "New Approaches in Daytime Entertainment" at the 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Always on the cutting edge of technology, will.i.am made history when he became the first artist to stream a song ("Reaching for the Stars") from another planet. The song was uploaded to the Curiosity Rover spacecraft which was launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida on November 26, 2011, and landed on Mars on August 6, 2012. 22 days later, on August 28, 2012, "Reaching for the Stars" was broadcast from Mars.

The Black Eyed Peas won Best Short Form Music Video for "Boom Boom Pow" at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards held at Staples Center on January 31, 2010, in Los Angeles, California.
