2012 Soul Train Awards
The nominations for the 2012 Soul Train Awards were announced Wed., Sept. 19 and among the nominees were some of the cream of the crop in urban music, including Beyonce, Usher, Estelle, Frank Ocean and Mary J. Blige, to name a few. The show was taped Thurs., Nov. 8 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas and aired at 9 pm Eastern/Pacific time Sun., Nov. 25 on both the BET and Centric cable networks. As usual, Cedric The Entertainer hosted the show, and the list of live performers included Stevie Wonder, Fantasia Barrio, Anthony Hamilton and Jill Scott. The full list of nominees and winners in all categories is below, with the winners in bold text. In addition to the below awards, New Edition was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and tribute was paid to late Soul Train founder Don Cornelius.
