2009 NAACP Image Awards: R&B /Soul Nominees & Winners

The 40th NAACP Image Awards nominees were announced Wed. Jan. 7 during a press conference at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Image Awards, according to the NAACP, celebrate diversity and achievement by African-Americans. Dozens of awards are given out in numerous entertainment categories, including television, music, literature and movies. The awards aired live Thurs., Feb. 12 on FOX. The nominees and winners in the R&B-relevant music categories are included below, with the winners in bold with an asterisk (*) beside them.
