The summer of 2007 - and the month of August in particular - wasn't that strong for new R&B. But the month of September - and the week of Sept. 25 in particular - should be much better. There's a nice mix of older, veteran talent releasing new albums in September, like Chaka Khan and Babyface, plus younger, but also proven talent, like Jill Scott and Keyshia Cole also have new releases coming out. 1. "Just Like You," Keyshia Cole
Keyshia's second album (which was originally titled Tears from a Soldier's Heart) will be released Sept. 25 on Geffen Records.
2. "The Real Thing: Words and Sounds, Vol. 3," Jill Scott
The latest album by Jill Scott, aka Jilly from Philly, comes out Sept. 25 on Hidden Beach Recordings.
3. "Baby Makin' Project," Jagged Edge
J.E. and JD are together again. Jagged Edge has reunited with their friend and mentor, Jermaine Dupri, on JD's new label. The latest album by the four-man vocal group is due out on Sept. 25.
4. "Funk This," Chaka Khan
The latest album of mostly new material by this legendary singer will be released Sept. 25.
5. "Time for a Change," Cupid
The man behind the Cupid Shuffle dance craze will have his debut album released on Atlantic Records on the ominous day of Sept. 11. Ominous not just due to the anniversary of 9/11, but ominous because Kanye West and 50 Cent are also releasing new albums the same day.
6. "Wines & Spirits," Rahsaan Patterson
Rahsaan's fourth album comes out Sept. 25 on the Artistry Music label.
