The 2006 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Awards were held Friday, Sept. 8 in Atlanta. In addition to the winners listed below, seminal rap act Public Enemy received the 2006 Hip-Hop Founders Award in recognition of their "long-standing influence throughout Hip-Hop," and R&B/hip-hop producer Jermaine Dupri was named the first-ever recipient of the Otis Redding Excellence Award for his achievements both in and outside the studio.
