The winners of the third Making The Band season became the girl-group known as Danity Kane.
During the Show:
During Making The Band 4, a group of judges travel across the country to find 58 male performers to appear on the show. The cast is eventually narrowed down to 20, and over the course of several weeks, the hopefuls live together in New York while learning to sing, dance and perform. They also take part in a series of challenges, such as boxing and playing basketball.
Group Formation:
Eventually, at the end of the nine-week series, the members of Day26 were chosen by Diddy and his associates during the live season finale. At the same time, another cast member on the show, Donnie Klang, was given a solo recording deal. On the Feb. 4, 2008 episode of the MTV music video show TRL, the band announced that Day26 would be their name due to the fact that Aug. 26, 2007 was the day that they officially became a group.
"Making The Band 4," Season 2:
The group is featured on the second season of Making The Band 4 with Danity Kane and Donnie Klang. During the season, all three artists are shown recording their albums while living in the same house. Day26's self-titled debut album was released in the U.S. on March 25, 2008. By late 2009, founding member Que had been asked to leave the group due to personality conflicts and the group left Bad Boy Records around the same time. On July 16, 2012, the members of the group released a statement announcing that they were putting Day26 on hiatus so that they could all work on solo projects. "We simply thank you from the bottom of our hearts and really want you to know that the journey does not end here," the group wrote to its fans. "We continue to wish each other the very best and continued success in all of our individual endeavors, and all we ask of you is to please give each member a chance and the opportunity to shine in whatever they do."
