Born & Raised: Cherish is a four-member vocal group comprised of biological sisters who were born and raised in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Their names are Farrah King (born 1984), Neosha King (born 1986), Felisha King and Fallon King (both born 1988). Felisha and Fallon are twin sisters.
Early Life: Cherish were originally proteges of producer-rapper Jermaine Dupri and were signed to Reprise Records, an imprint of Warner Bros., in the early 2000s. The group's Reprise debut single "Miss P" (aka "Miss Pimp") featuring Da Brat and produced by Jermaine, was released in 2003. Although they recorded a full album called The Moment for Reprise, it was shelved. The girls were eventually released from their contract and to date, The Moment has still never been released.
"Do It To It": Eventually, the girls were signed by Sho'Nuff Records, a division of Capitol Records, that's run by producer Jazze Pha. In 2006, the quartet made a comeback with the catchy dance song "Do It To It," featuring Sean P. of the rap duo YoungBloodZ. Following the success of "Do It To It," the group's official debut album (but second to be recorded by them), called Unappreciated, was released in August 2006 and debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard albums chart.
The Truth: Following "Do It To It," the title track from Unappreciated was released as the album's second single. It wasn't as successful as the first single, but still managed to peak at No. 12 on the Billboard singles chart. In November 2007, the group returned with "Killa," the first single from their second album, The Truth. The album's second single, a ballad called "Amnesia," was released in April 2008 and the full album followed later in 2008.
Quote: "We started singing when we were 2, 4 and 6 (years old). We've been professionals since we were 7, 9 and 11. We would always sing together." -- Neosha King, to about.com's Mark Nero, July 2006.
