New Music: Donell Jones - 'Forever'

By February 1, 2013

Follow me on:

It's been quite awhile since we heard anything musically from Donell Jones, hasn't it? Well, after taking what seems like forever off, he's back with a new single, coincidentally titled "Forever." (Not to be confused with another, completely different Donell song also called "Forever" that appeared on his 2009 album, The Lost Files.) The new single, which was just released yesterday, is what we've all come to expect from Donell over the years: a luscious, butter-smooth track suitable for making love to. He even goes so far as to deliver a spoken intro, the type that was typical in R&B during his '90s heyday:

"This goes out to all the women that hold they man down, especially my woman, my 22," he says, possibly referring to a .22 caliber handgun.

The song is the first official single for Donell since 2011's "All About the Sex" which appeared on his Lyrics album. It's the lead track from his seventh studio album, also titled Forever, which is due out later in 2013 via eOne Music. So if you're in the mood for a little retro R&B, you can check the song out by clicking the link below.
