When it comes to putting out free mixtapes, R&B/Soul crooner Raheem DeVaughn was an early pioneer. How early? Well, his latest, Heemy Taught Me 2, is officially his 15th mixtape. Although he's only released three official studio albums since his 2005 debut, he's managed to distribute four times as many mixtapes during that time. His latest, Heemy Taught Me 2, is the sequel to his April 2011 compilation, Heemy Taught Me, a collection of new and previously-released sexy jams. The new mixtape follows the formula of the first in that there's a combination of all-new, semi-new and previously released material, including Rah's sexualized versions of other artists' songs, like Wale's recent hip-hop hit "Lotus Flower Bomb," and Kirko Bangz' "Drank in My Cup." The mixtape's theme is exemplified by some of the lyrics on "Slow Dance," the opening song:
"This is a parental baby-making advisory," He says. "Listen, we're only moments away from a place called Loveland now, but if you find yourself dancing in your room naked, wishing I could be there, well just touch yourself."
No word yet on when Rah will release another studio album, but considering that his most recent one, The Love & War MasterPeace, dropped way back in March 2010, he's definitely due. In the meantime, if you're jonesin' for some Mr. DeVaughn, you can get your latest fix via the top link below.
