It's not like she ever really left, but Faith Evans is poised to make a big return to the urban music scene during the second half of 2012. First, she's got a significant role in "R&B Divas," an eight episode reality series that premiered last night (Aug. 19, 2012) on the TV One cable network. On the show, Faith and fellow singers Monifah, Syleena Johnson, Nicci Gilbert (of the '90s group Brownstone) and Keke Wyatt reveal the trials and tribulations of their personal and professional lives while living in Atlanta. Secondly, Faith's releasing a new album to serve as a companion piece and soundtrack to the series. The album's first single, "Tears of Joy," is a soaring reflection on how a good, positive relationship is truly something to be celebrated. The song, which follows on the heels of the recent release of the "R&B Divas" show's theme song "Lovin' Me," is a reminder of how great a singer Faith can be when she's fully engaged in her work and not just going through the motions, like she's done at times in the past. "Lovin' Me," which features all five members of the "R&B Divas" cast, and "Tears of Joy" can both be streamed via the links below.
