R&B singer-songwriter John Legend has just announced that not only is he putting the finishing touches on his fifth studio album, he's also hitting the road this fall and touring much of the U.S. and Canada. The album, titled Love in the Future, will be his first since Wake Up!, his retro-Soul project with hip-hop band The Roots, dropped in September 2010. According to a two-minute video posted on YouTube, the album's co-produced by Legend, Kanye West and Dave Tozer, and songs from it will be previewed throughout the tour, starting with an Oct. 16 show in Clearwater, Florida. Interestingly, even though this is labeled a North American tour, there's just one show outside the U.S., a Nov. 3 performance in Toronto, Ontario. The other 22 dates are all slated for big and medium-sized cities across America, including Atlanta, Philadelphia, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles. The opening act on the majority of shows will be Lianne La Havas, a honey-voiced London-based singer whose debut album, Is Your Love Big Enough?, was released earlier this summer. Tickets for some shows go on sale this Friday, Aug. 17, and current tour schedule, which is subject to change, is included below.
