You may not know R&B/Soul singer LaToiya Williams by name, but if you've ever watched the movies Baby Boy, Soul Plane, or The Wash, or if you've heard the 2002 Snoop Dogg compilation album Doggystyle All-Stars Vol. 1 or Jay-Z's Blueprint 2.1, then you probably know her music. LaToiya, a West Coast artist who got her big break through Snoop, is probably best known up 'til know for her retro-Soul song "Fallen Star" from the Doggystyle compilation, but she's about to make some more noise on the music scene via her upcoming EP, KupCak'n, which is due out any time now. The first single, "This Love is Sweet" is a nice slice of old-school R&B that LaToiya has just made available as a stream on her official Soundcloud page.
