Over the past couple of years, up-and-coming R&B singer Josh Xantus has released a number of songs and mixtapes showcasing his status as one of urban music's best young rising artists. Up until now though, most of his music's been traditional R&B ballads and mid-tempo love songs, with his recent song "Love Games" being a prime example. But on his most recently released track, he's decided to switch things up a try something different. The Swizz Beatz-produced "Movie Star" is an uptempo new school track about a dude who's blown away by the looks of a woman he meets at the club: "She's like a movie star, she's so outrageous/Unbelievable, unforgettable, she's so outrageous." Not exactly the most thought-provoking or insightful lyrics, but the song is what it is. And what it is, is a certified club banger that attempts to expand Josh's fanbase and have him step outside of the romantic balladeer box he put himself inside during the earliest stage of his career. "Movie Star" is the latest track released from Josh's upcoming mixtape, Everybody Hates Josh X, which is due out as a free download April 30. You can stream the song via the link below.
