If you've seen the About R&B list of the noteworthy albums coming out in Spring 2012, you know that Soul crooner Ryan Shaw drops his sophomore album, Real Love, in a couple of months. Real Love is the follow-up to his debut release, This is Ryan Shaw, which came out back in 2007. Since it's been four years since his last album, and since his classic Soul sound isn't really in tune with what's hot in modern music, here's a little taste of what he has to offer musically: a song called "Karina," which serves as the album's lead single. On the tune, Ryan croons about how much he wants to get back the woman who left him after her cheated on her. "I'm tossin' in my sleep and I'm callin' out your name," he sings. This is just one song, but judging by it, Ryan has definitely upped his game as a vocalist. He sounds bolder than on his debut, as well as more powerful, and best of all, instead of sounding like someone doing a Wilson Pickett or Otis Redding imitation, his vocal style has become more unique and distinctive. Real Love is due out May 15, but until then, you can stream "Karina" via the link below.
