Ladies, have you ever felt unappreciated by a man? Have you ever been totally devoted to someone, only to have him turn around and get caught stepping out with another woman? Well, Estelle feels your pain. Or at least she does on her current single, "Thank You," on which she finds herself expressing gratitude to the man who's helped her, because the experience has helped make her both smarter and stronger. It's such a well-written song from the female perspective that you'd probably never guess it was written by a man. And not just any ordinary man, but Akon. Yes, that Akon. The one who's best known for songs that objectify women, like "Smack That" and "I Wanna Love You." But apparently, he's about more than just a biology major, if you know what I mean. And if you listen closely, you can even hear him on background vocals. "Thank You" is the current single off Estelle's second US album, All of Me, due out Feb. 28, 2012.
