One of the artists featured in the annual About R&B list of up-and-coming singers to look out for is Elle Varner, an LA-based songbird whose upbeat debut single, "Only Wanna Give It to You," features another up-and-comer, the rapper J. Cole. As mentioned in the About profile, Elle's debut album, tentatively titled Perfectly Imperfect, is due out later in 2012. But in the meantime, she's just released a mixtape called Conversational Lush to keep peoples' appetites whetted for the time being. Surprisingly, "Only Wanna" is not on the free digital mixtape. And even more surprisingly, the mixtape itself is almost like a full album; there's plenty of new, original songs and just a few snippets, demos and those other throwaway moments we've all come to expect on mixtapes.
