It's been five years since alternative R&B/Soul singer and activist Goapele released her third album, 2006's Change It All. Since then, she's kept busy by putting out a handful of singles, including "Victory," an ode to the 2010 FIFA World Cup. But now she's gearing up to release her fourth album this fall, and here's the first single, "Play." Although she's more known for her social, political and message-minded music, Goapele switches things up here, and the mid-tempo "Play" is probably the sexiest, most sensual song she's ever recorded: "I wanna play, play around, tell me if you think that you can get down/'Cause this is what I'm dying for, I mean this is what I'm dying to do," she sings in a breathy, alluring tone. The album the song will be on is called Break of Dawn, and it's due out Oct. 24, 2011 via Skyblaze/Decon Records. Until then, I highly recommend streaming "Play" via the link below.
