Teena MarieR&B legend Teena Marie has been found dead at her home in Southern California. She was 54. Teena, who was born Mary Brockert on March 5, 1956 in Santa Monica, California, was a protege of the late Funk singer Rick James, and worked with him early in her career during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Some of her best known songs include "Square Biz," "I'm A Sucker for Your Love," "Ooh La La La," and "Fire and Desire," a steamy duet with James. According to publicists, Teena died in her sleep at her Santa Monica, California home this week, about a month after suffering a major seizure. See the below stories for more information.
