I didn't realize this until recently, but one of my fellow about.com music writers, '80s Music critic Steve Peake has compiled a list of his top 10 R&B artists of the 1980s. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of much '80s music of any genre, whether it be R&B, Pop, Rock, whatever. I'm more of a '90s music fan. But I was so impressed by Steve's knowledge of such artists as Evelyn "Champagne" King, Freddie Jackson, Patti Labelle and the late, great Rick James, among others, that I felt compelled to share his list with you. Thank goodness for those 80′s & 90′s R&B/Funk artists, because, I didn’t care much for any other genres during those two decades. The 70′s still rule, in my book.
