Concert Review: Maxwell Live in Atlanta
From About.com contributor Timothy Michael Carson: "Rain and heavy Atlanta traffic didn't stop music lovers from making their way into the heart of the city to see Maxwell perform at the Phillips Arena at a nearly sold out venue. On Oct. 5, 2009, after an eight-year hiatus, Maxwell was gracing Atlanta with his BLACKsummer's Night tour. His fans were coming out in droves to see him do his thing." If that whets your appetite, then check out his full review of Maxwell's Atlanta concert.

The concert was the best!!!! Maxwell’s performance was outstanding and classic… and oh so sexy. This was the best concert I have seen in years it had real music, real instruments true and honest music coming from the soul. This man is as real as it gets when it comes to authenticity. Maxwell was marinating for the past 8 years because he came back looking hot and sexy as ever. This mature Maxwell is beautiful! He sounded exceptional. The opening acts were great also. Common got down, honey!! And Chrisette Michele did a wonderful job. Oh lets not forget about Bilal he was great. This was a beautiful experience I will never forget. Hope to see ya soon. Atlanta loves ya Maxwell!!
I am a true fan of Maxwell always have been. This was my second time seeing him and he was better than ever. It was all what I expected and more. This was truly for adults only. Who ever gives him a just ok review you obviously don’t get him. Woman love him and men can learn a thing or two. He doesn’t have to have all the bells and whistles. All he has to do is stand there and you melt. He is a true singer and gives off so much sex appeal. There was nothing wrong with is voice. We know what Max can do. There is no other since Marvin Gaye that has put the Maxwell spell on the us ladies like he does. Once your in your in. Got to love him. If you know whats good for ya put that Maxwell on. He sets the stage, dims the light and puts you in the mood to grove witcha ya. Gotta Love Him! I’m going for a third time. Three times a charm. See you next time Max.
I saw Maxwell in Detroit and it was my fifth time since about 1998 and he was better than ever (I HAD A BALL!!!). We are true fans, my daughter, sister, friends and my husband. The music is adult in style but not old school. It’s sophisticated and meaningful, a perfect addiction to the balanced lifes we try to live. We are happy about his return and look forward to his upcoming work that we know will be all that we expect from Maxwell.
