The 2009 BET Awards may have been originally conceived as a venue to hand out some award statues, but after the King of Pop, Michael Jackson died, the event was reconfigured to be part awards ceremony, part tribute. This 2009 BET Awards photo gallery is of some of the best on-stage moments during the show, including shots of Beyonce, Keri Hilson, New Edition and of course, the show's host, Jamie Foxx.

I was terribly disappointed. No polish and no cohesion. A mess and frankly not the tribute Michael Jackson deserved. For me, after all these years BET has not met the mark. TV One is younger and is shining far brighter.
Yeah I wanted to watch that show but due to my current dispute with the cable company over a supposed unpaid bill, my service been shut down and I couldn’t see nothing on the TV my static. Argh! These companies need to get some people skills.
If you don’t have any positive comment to say keep it to yourself. The BET award(it is what it is) Don’t watch!! They are not the best awards but I enjoy seeing my the beautiful black stars and what there wearing. Monica did very well. I enjoyed seeing her. I enjoyed the BET awards. The tribute to Michael Jackson was just fine. We will miss you Mr. Michael Joseph Jackson.
