Kristinia DeBarge Says "Goodbye"

Back in the 1980s, the DeBarge family was music R&B music royalty: El DeBarge and his siblings James, Bunny and the rest were like a younger version of Michael Jackson and the Jackson family. But struggles with alcohol and drug abuse, as well as poor-performing albums and prison time for a couple of family members led to the family's decline and fall as a recording group. Well, it's been 20 years since the group broke up, but a young family member is now trying to make her mark in the music industry: 19-year-old Kristinia DeBarge, (pronounced kris-ti-NEE-a) daughter of James DeBarge (aka Janet Jackson's first husband) has an album coming out sometime this summer via Sodapop Music, Babyface's new record label. Good pop song, very danceable, will be huge in the clubs and on radio. Yet other than the fact that she seems to actually be able to sing, not much different here than any of the other pop queens (Rhianna, Brittany, Lady Gaga, etc)
I have to agree with TalleyOnTheTurntable and djrj, she sounds like Rihanna as well as this is a pop song. Don’t get me wrong the song is a nice pop song.

Useless song! Disappointing that Babyface put his name to this nonesense, must’ve been daddy calling in all the favours – Go back to spending daddy’s money. At least the Kardashian’s dont try and venture out of their realm – smart girls, mind you, they’d probably actually have talent!

I just want to comment on here for someone who said that this is Rihanna’s “SOS” song was sadly mistaken.. The “SOS” song was actually produced using the same beat as the song “tainted love”. This is a really good remake of a song. one of the best I have heard besides “Right Round”. She did an awesome job and can’t wait to hear other songs from her

debarge is a household name so this girl may not be able to sing tht grate because her backround will exagerate all of it plus she was botted off american idol j.r.s and told no by simon and randy whens she audition for idol season 5 so she isnt tha grate she is a 1 medeoker hit wonder that will ake it because of her last name she isnt janets daughter and it sounds like rihanna just recorded the whole song and she did back up vocals the song is over tonned nd to basy even though it bumps on the radio its still not a # 1 hit it seems as if she put a lot of time into it beut she wont be that succsesful it also sounds like rihannas sos met lady gagas love game and made a song. the song will sell but the album will be in the half off bin for sure

This has got to stop. She has no talent and from what Randy and Simon said on A.I. it is apparent that she can’t sing either. I wish R&B and Hip Hop radio stations would stop playing this and all other songs like it. Radio days are about over with music like this playing all the time. The people in this city don’t listen to it anymore because of how this JUNK is taking over. Please make her stop and sit down somewhere!!!!!!!!!!
I really like. I think it’s catchy. It has good rhythm and vocals. I was surprise to see that BabyFace produced it. It is different than what I’ve heard from him but he knows talent. She’s beautiful and it doesn’t hurt that she’s from a famous R&B family. Last summer, I bought DeBarge’s greatest hits. Kristinia can sing and I think she has a bright recording career. She may also do well in movies. Good Luck Kristinia!

I’m not impressed and actually irritated. Another case of an old song redone, and packaged in the form of a light skinned girl so as not to upset middle America, and cause gaggles of 13 yr olds to go out and buy it.
Any bets on how many HS dance squads will be doing this song this fall.

This song sucks!!! I hate the lyrics, it sounds like something that should be played while playing volleyball or musical chairs. I am very surprised that an artist such as Babyface who happens to be a favorite of mine would produce something like this. Hopefully her next release will sound better.
