There aren't too many R&B or Soul singers who have consistently put out music for 30 years, but the legendary Teena Marie is one of them. Other than a period from the mid-to-late '90s, Teena has been releasing albums every other year or so since 1979. Lady Tee's back again and plans to drop her 13th studio album June 9, 2009 via Stax Records. The album, Congo Square, takes it's name from an historical area in New Orleans where slaves were allowed to dance and sing on Sundays. "I thought it would be awesome to consider Congo Square our address – an inspirational place where artists all live in spirit," Teena said about the title. The album's first single is "Can’t Last a Day," a Kenny Gamble & Leon Huff-influenced track that pairs Teena with Faith Evans. You can stream it by clicking the link below.

“This spin is a subconscious beauty”.
Bravo, Tina & Faith.
Bought! “Can’t last a day!”
Teena wrote this song, it is definitely not a cover of any Gamble & Huff song. She was inspired by their songs but this is her song not theirs.
See people this is what the music industry is missing , Real writing and songs with awesome lyrical content. Teena Marie is consistent and passionate about her music can’t you tell????
Finally, a classic R&B tune is on the radio! This is what you call real music. Love it!
Classic Teena, This is what you call feel good music, the real deal – give us more!
Fabulous!!! I am going to pre-order this one. Tina sounds amazing as usual and Faith is Fabulous! Who made the track cause it’s off the chain too!?!?!?!?!

Sounds so sweet, I LOVE it! Can’t wait on the album. This one should go to #1. Can’t Last A Day is sooo good. Thank you Teena for making me smile today. I’m just shaken my head, you are so amazing.

When I hear this song on the radio, I will not get out of the car. It’s called a “curbside” moment. I knew it was Tina when I first heard it a few weeks ago. I know a “singer” when I hear one. I buy very few CDs due to the lack of musical integrity. Make no mistake about it. Tina has not compromised hers. I can’t wait until June.9th to buy the CD.
Thank you Teena. Thank you Faith. This song is a new classic. I imagine myself playing it years from now.
Right on time for me! Classic Teena. She’s sounding great as ever.
