The debut album by producer-singer-songwriter Ryan Leslie is one of those project's that's been hit with delay after delay for years. Back in June 2006 when yours truly was still an about.com rookie, I interviewed Ryan, and at that time, his debut was due out before the end of the year. Then it was supposed to come out in 2007. In the spring of 2008, when he dropped a moderately successful single called "Diamond Girl," an album release date of June 17 of that year was set. Obviously that date came and went without anything happening, but Ryan's self-titled debut is finally set to hit stores on Feb. 10, 2009. The latest evidence that it might actually happen this time is the fresh new single, "How It Was Supposed to Be," a song about lost love featuring Jadakiss.
