Some of the more interesting news and rumors from the past week:
- Alicia Keys' third album, As I Am, was the top selling album of 2008, according to Billboard and Nielsen. She also had the most listened-to radio song of the year, "No One," which drew 3.08 billion radio listeners between Nov. 12, 2007 and Nov. 16, 2008.
- Prince says he'll release three albums in 2009; the first, tentatively titled MPLSOUND, is an electro-flavored solo effort; the second, featuring his protege Bria Valente, is called Elixir; and the third is a guitar-oriented album called Lotus Flower.
- Janet Jackson is rumored to be fuming over a comment that Beyonce made recently, when Be said that the Jackson parents had used their kids to "get out of a bad situation" when the kids were starting out in show bsuiness.
