Some of the more interesting news and rumors from the past week:
- The federal government and the state of Alabama have placed liens on all of Ruben Studdard's property for unpaid income taxes in 2003 and 2005.
- Robin Thicke allegedly said that someone with Vibe magazine told him they have a strict policy against having white artists on the cover.
- Michael Jackson celebrated his 50th birthday on Aug. 29 by 'having a little cake with his children and watching some cartoons.' Okay.
- Ginuwine has inked a recording contract with Notifi Records and might put out a new album during the first quarter of 2009.
- Avant has a new, self-titled album coming out on Oct. 28. The first single, "When It Hurts," hit radio earlier this month.
- Sammie says he left Dallas Austin’s Rowdy Records due to a lack of attention to his album.
