Janelle Monae - "Sincerely, Jane"

If you've already checked out the About R&B list of new album releases for the month of August, then you know that recent Bad Boy Records signee Janelle Monae is re-releasing a special edition of her Metropolis: The Chase Suite album on Aug. 12. She originally released the five-song EP independently in August of '07, but this version has two new songs. The track featured here, though, is one of the five songs on the original release, just like "Many Moons," which yours truly blogged about back in May. "Sincerely, Jane" is totally different from the craziness that is "Many Moons," but still reinforces the fact that Janelle's a true artist who walks a way different path than all the generic, unoriginal vocalists out there. Her all-new full-length album is due out in early 2009, but for now, you can stream her current single, "Sincerely, Jane," by clicking on the link below.
