Al Green & Corinne Bailey Rae: "Take Your Time"
Monday July 7, 2008
There's a 33 year age difference that separates contemporary pop-Soul singer Corinne Bailey Rae and legendary Soul crooner Al Green (she's 29, he's 62), but that doesn't matter a bit on the slow-burning "Take Your Time," which is one of the best songs on Al's latest album, Lay It Down (released in the U.S. on May 26, 2008). Despite the age difference, the singers' voices have an amazing chemistry together. It's actually this track more than any other on Lay It Down that shows and proves that despite receiving a lifetime achievement award at the 2008 BET Awards recently, Reverend Al isn't about to fade off into the sunset anytime soon. In total agreement! Love, love, love this Al Green album. It is so classically “Al”. And the Corinne Bailey Rae duet is magical.
