R. Kelly was acquitted today (Fri., June 13) of charges that he appeared on a videotape having sex with an underage girl. The jury cleared the R&B superstar of all 14 child pornography counts. After the verdict was read, Kelly dabbed at his face with a handkerchief and hugged each of his four attorneys, according to news reports. The verdict brought to an end a criminal case that had been pending for six years. Kelly had argued from the beginning that he was not the man on the video, and the alleged victim testified during the trial she was not in the video either.
