Music: Ray Lavender - "Stay"

You might be familiar - or not - with Ray Lavender (aka Ray-L) from his song "My Girl Gotta Girlfriend," which created a small regional buzz back in the summer of '07. At that time, his debut album X-Rayted, was supposed to drop on Geffen Records in the fall. Obviously that didn't happen, but Ray's back again with a new single, "Stay," plus a new title for his first album, Ray Lavender, and a new approximate release timeframe, the summer of '08. Your Guide to R&B was never crazy about that "My Girl Gotta" song, but I'm totally feelin' "Stay," which is about persevering through the tough times in a relationship instead of giving up and walking away. I love this song. I have heard it on the radio in ATL for a while. I always thought it was Tank or someone else. I never knew it was the “my girl’s got a girlfriend guy”. I’m interested in hearing the whole album.
