New Music: Keith Sweat - Just Me
Friday May 2, 2008
This might be hard for those of you under the age of 21 to believe, but back in the late 1980s, Keith Sweat was the man. Back then, before his name and music became synonymous with beggin' for lovin,' Keith was one of the best and most popular male singers in all of R&B. Dude's career has had its share of ups and downs over the years, but that's what you've got to expect from an artist who's been around for more than a generation. On May 13, 2008, Keith's latest album, Just Me, comes out on Rhino Records. And in anticipation of that, the label is letting people stream the album - in its entirety - for free. That's right, free and legal. I've listened to it once already and although Just Me isn't as innovative as his late '80s work, it's his most entertaining, least-begging album in at least 10 years. Those of you who used to be Keith Sweat fans, or still are, will probably dig the album's mellow, sophisticated vibe. To hear it, just click on the link below or on the photo of Keith.

Im only 20 and after i heard twisted ive been fan ever since and cant wait to get this album
Keith Sweat is one the greatest artist from an era when music was good and fun. I love what I’ve heard from this album, and I’m glad that he’s working with Teddy again.
Ive listened to this whole album…its ok..but it just aint Keith…doesnt have that Keith Sweat flava. Keith Sweat is a far better artist that what he put down on this album.
In reality hiphop and r&b will never be what it was 10, 15 years ago. I agree it was the best time back in the 90’s. Music these days has tottaly revolved. I feel as though music artists these days just bring out what sells in the market today. I’ve listened to this album and it’s one of the best r&b albums i’ve heard in a while. It’s not like any other mainstream artists album, keith has his own unique style which i much love. Every track on this album is worth listening to. My personal faourite is “The floor”. I love the beat and smooth lyrics malong with that teddy riley touch, it’s just a banga!. Athena cage appears again on the track “Butterscotch” which will bring back memories for most of you. The track “Just wanna sex you” reminds me of the good old days (wink). I think if i was to choose the tracks off this album which would be commercial hits i would say they would be “Suga suga suga ft paisley bettis” and “love you better ft keyshia cole” and Butterscotch ft athena cage”. I’m glad he didn’t put any rappers on this album like most artists do these days, with cheesy tracks, it would of ruined it for me. I’m sure if you love 90’s r&b and the man Keith Sweat himself you will love this album. 8.5/10 for me.
im 16 and im hooked, this album is ace. sexiest girl is hot!9/10 for me
