Music: Karina Pasian - "Sixteen At War"
Wednesday March 19, 2008
The age of 16 is pretty young to be signed to a record label, much less a well-known and world-reknown one like Def Jam, but Karina Pasian says she's been singing and playing piano since she was three. And she's also recorded about 70 songs in the past two years, some of which will be on her debut album, coming out in June. One of those songs is "Sixteen At War," (aka "16 @ War") a female empowerment song about some of the things that teenage girls living in urban areas have to deal with. "Ain't no daddys where I'm from, just mad mothers," she sings about the 'hood. To stream the song, which was written and produced by The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, just click on the link below or on the photo of her at the piano.
