New Music: Usher - "Love In This Club"

Usher is back, folks. That's right, Usher Raymond IV is getting ready to drop a new album later in 2008 and here's the first single, "Love In This Club," featuring the rapper Young Jeezy. I don't know about you, but I haven't completely warmed up to this song yet. It's an okay song, but singing about making love in a nightclub sounds more like an R. Kelly move than an Usher one. Also, the production, which is by Polow Da Don, sounds too much like a cheap knockoff of Timbaland's style. I dunno, maybe the song grows on you after awhile. This song is INSANE. Just hits all the right spots. His voice is on point. Beat is slow enough for chillin, fast enough for a club jam. Perfect for this time. Gettin ready for SUMMER!

whats good. the track is pretty average. jeezy’s verse is wack and the subject matter is like half a century late, people have been making love in clubs all around the world for ages. ehh the song will do okay i guess.
i prefer the timbo produced ‘moving mountains’ better. ‘i can’t win’ was promising but after hearing it in full, im disappointed.
I think the song sucks! Big time. As an Usher fan, I am highly disappointed in this new song. I’ll be waiting for a second single.
I think the backup vocals makes this song.

I like the song well enough…not sure I
need to warm up to it. When a song is great
you know right away its smokin’. If a tune doesn’t light my candle on first play…I don’t think a second play will help me warm up to it. It is what is ! Move on !!!
This song falls in line with the rest of the sub-par male R&B products of today…. Whack subject matter no real display of vocal talent with a pop beat. Not feeling this joint.
this song is off the hook! How can you not like this song! Its a great club song, a great sing-a-long song, a great song just to be listening to. It might not be a grammy style song, but it sure does make you feel good. I dont think usher is literally going out to say make love in the club- but the feeling is sure there for some of us, when we dancing, especially to a song like this. The rest of you need to stop hatin! Its a damn good song.
This song makes me want to sex somebody right now! I love it. I think you’re either gonna love it or hate it. The first time I heard it I went crazy looking for it. Won’t be everybody’s cup of tea, but throw this joint on in the club and everybodys a little tipsy, it’ll be a sex fest with clothes on.
All songs are made to conjure up some kind of emotion and this one simply says, lets get our freak on.
Doesn’t sound like his previous joints, but it’s not like it doesn’t fit him either. I’m looking forward to the album.

the first time I heard this song I loved the music but I thought the topic was kinda wack but the second and third time I’m inlove with it! It will grow on you

Sometimes the video can make a difference…We’ll see what happens….If Usher were smart, now would be a good time to reinvent himself without losing himself. Come with an album thats “tight” but with a different sound.

I LOVE this song!!!!! I’m shocked at the # of people who dislike it! Just like the person above me stated, I guess this is just one of those songs that you either hate or love…. I don’t think usher has really shyed away from his ’style’ Don’t you guys remeber the songs: Lover’s and Friends, Yeah, Nice and Slow, etc. In my opinion this song fits right in…..Sooo, you really don’t like it?? The track sounds more like a DJ Toomp Knockoff than a Timberland clone. I think like most club songs this song fits perfectly in a simple mold.
Plz give me an example of a song with advanced or complex SUBJECT MATTER that was recieved by the masses ( are asses )
Club songs are made for the masses.
Other words it’s a good song for what it’s intended for. Entertain the mass.

Mark, I know what you mean by “love in this club” lyrics. It sure is a Kelly anthem than an Usher “quick hit” but the song is catchy and gaining ears. The way the industry is at full speed, he couldn’t let this one go by. Spring break is in and Last night, opium in Miami, was jammin this song all night by request. It’s a HIT.
