New Music: Cheri Dennis - "Portrait of Love"

A few days ago, your Guide to R&B mentioned Cheri Dennis in his quarterly list of R&B and Soul albums that have been delayed and pushed back, because it's been well over a year since her debut single, "I Love You," was released, but no album has yet to emerge. Well, according to the latest info (which of course is subject to change at any moment), Cheri's self-titled debut is set to come out in the U.S. on Jan. 28, 2008. And as a sign that this info might indeed be correct, a long-awaited second single by Cheri has been released. The song, called "Portrait of Love," features the rappers Yung Joc and Gorilla Zoe, although their participation is thankfully kept to a minimum. Im bout to to a DJ Meet and greet with Cherri and this Track, Portait of Love is gonna have great cross-over appeal and really hit the 25-35 yr olds who go to the club and 2 step like grown folks…..A couple remixes and a strong December will guarantee success..Remember I said it first and dats da truuf
