New Music: Chaka Khan - "Angel"

Legendary R&B singer Chaka Khan has a new album called Funk This coming out on Sept. 25 on Burgundy Records. Funk This features Chaka covering songs originally recorded by Prince, Jimi Hendrix and others, plus some new material, also. Recently, your Guide to R&B posted a song from the album called "Disrespectful," a duet between Chaka and Mary J. Blige. Well, a new single from the album has recently been released, so presented for your listening pleasure is "Angel," a strong, yet soft ballad that sounds a lot like Chaka's late '70s, early '80s material. This is a beautiful song another gem from the soulful Chaka Khan!!! She vocals are really smooth and jazzy on this one. I can’t wait for the cd to come out.

THANK YOU, LORD - SHE IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always loved Chaka from the first note I ever heard her sing. My voice has often refleted her style and range. One of my all time favorites being “Smoking Romm”. I love “Angel”. And I will be talking Chaka up on this new CD. Any Chaka Khan fan will love this one. I just wish that she would hook back up with Paulino DaCosta and the other musicians that made her voice and range and style what it is. I am so loving this!!!!!
I love Chaka! I thank God singers like her, Minnie, Luther, Frankie Beverly & Maze, The Whispers. You know, the kind of music that touched your soul and made you think a little, and love a little and I hope that singers such as the beautiful Chaka will evolve and that the real music, the kind that had a meaning, I hope that comes back. I pray it comes back. There’s no one who can fit the description of the Great Chaka Khan herself. Angel by far is a brilliant song that reminds me of Chaka in her younger years. She has never changed her style, that’s what I love about her. Don’t ever change
