Cupid is an R&B cat from Louisiana signed to Atlantic Records. According to his PR people, he might be best described as blending the urban South together – R&B, Soul, Country-Blues and Hip-Hop. Plus, his father is a pastor so there are elements of Gospel in his music, too. The first single off his upcoming debut album, The New Cupid, is called “The Cupid Shuffle” and apparently, it has already sparked a new dance sensation down South. This is terrible and he sounds exactly like Urban Mystic. Where is the creativity in R&B. There is no innovation anymore. All the cats coming up sounds like somebody that is already doing it.

I love the song and I am a 50 something year old lady. I heard it at a party and I just wanted to jump up and dance. I wish I could find out where to find the dance steps. I bet those that say they don’t like it are the first ones to get up and dance in the clubs.
