It can be pretty obvious in a singer's voice sometimes when they've actually, genuinely been through some of the drama they sing about. And from one listen to Deemi's "Soundtrack of My Life," it's apparent that she's not just singing about it - she's lived it. Straight out of the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, N.Y., singer-songwriter Tahu "Deemi" Aponte, is a 27-year-old woman who, starting at age 17, went through some of life's more extreme hardships.
