Straight out of the Bedford-Stuyvesant area of Brooklyn, N.Y., singer-songwriter Tahu "Deemi" Aponte, is a 27-year-old woman who, starting at age 17, went through some of life's more extreme hardships. Sorry, Deemi’s album was discontinued by Atlantic Records; it’s not available anymore. I don’t think she’s with that label anymore, either.
