2006 American Music Awards Winners

The 2006 American Music Awards, honoring the best in Soul/R&B, Pop/Rock, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Latin, Alternative, Adult Contemporary and contemporary Inspirational music, were broadcast live Tues., Nov. 21, 2006 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The AMA nominees were chosen based on record sales; winners were selected by a survey of about 20,000 listeners. Winners in the R&B category included Jamie Foxx and Mary J. Blige, among others.
