R&B News and Rumors Roundup (10/08/06 Edition)
Sunday October 8, 2006
Every other week or so in this space, we recap some of the more noteworthy events that took place in the world of R&B over the previous seven days. So in case you missed something, here's the news:
- R. Kelly is being sued by a man who says that the self-proclaimed Pied Piper of R&B beat him and held him against his will. I've got jokes I could say, but I'll just keep it clean and move on.
- Sleepy Brown's new CD, Mr. Brown, can be streamed for free & in its entirety at his website. Also, you can read your Guide to R&B's review of Mr. Brown right here.
- India.Arie's original and previously unreleased version of her song "I Am Not My Hair," (which features Pink) will be available for download at iTunes starting Oct. 23.
- One of your Guide to R&B's favorite websites, singersroom.com, has posted an interview with pretty-boy singer Bobby Valentino.
- R&B singer Case (remember him?) has reemerged and signed with a new label. He'll supposedly drop a new album in 2007.
