- Billboard and Clear Channel Radio are partnering to broadcast the 2006 Billboard R&B Hip-Hop Awards show on Sept. 8th, 2006. The webcast will be available via Billboard.com as well as more than 50 Clear Channel-owned radio station websites.
- Goapele, the Oakland-raised singer/activist, will be honored with the first ever Human Rights Cultural Hero Award on Sept. 14 by the Northern California-based Ella Baker Center.
- Marques Houston, in an interview with Billboard magazine's website, says his upcoming release, Veteran, is his first album that truly reflects who he is as an artist and as a man.
- Sleepy Brown, the Soul/R&B/Pop singer best known as a member of OutKast's family of artists, was recently interviewed by the Boston Herald.
