Lyfe Jennings Gets a New Release Date
Monday June 26, 2006
Lyfe Jennings, the former inmate who launched a successful career as an R&B singer after serving a 10-year prison sentence for arson, has a new release date, and this one has nothing to do with a correctional facility. According to Billboard, The Phoenix, the follow-up to Jennings' 2004 debut album, will be released by Columbia Records on Aug. 15. Among the guest performers set to appear on the LP are such Southern rappers as Three 6 Mafia, Project Pat and Young Buck (of G-Unit.) The first single, "S.E.X.," which is about female sexual maturity, has just been released to radio stations. Jennings' first album, Lyfe 268-192, has sold nearly a million copies since its release.
