With a first name like Governor, you'd half expect him to enter a career in politics, but no. His father - Governor Washington, Sr. - was a Virginia preacher, and this Governor has decided to embark upon a singing career. And it's a good thing too, because he's a got a soulful voice that's hip and contemporary, yet still has that classic sound to it. His gritty debut album, Son of Pain, is due in stores Sept. 12, 2006, on Grand Hustle/Atlantic Records. I JUST HEARD GOVENOR’S SONG DESTINY FOR THE FIRST TIME AND FELL IN LOVE WITH IT, THE SONG WAS PLAYED ON A LOCAL COLLAGE STATION AND ME AND MY TWIN SISTER LOOKED HIM UP ASAP I MEAN IT TOOK MY BREATH AWAY. HE REMINDED ME OF RAHEEM DEVAHN OR ANTHONY HAMILTON I REALLY RESPECT AND LOVE THE THREE BECAUSE THEY TALK ABOUT REAL ISSUES AND MAKE U FEEL EVERY WORD THROUGH THE WAY THE SING THE SONGS. I never heard about Governor until my boyfriend told me i remind him of this song and he played it for me and i just fell in love with the song and had to buy the whole cd.
